More than just free oatmeal…

Last week, Projectline was featured on King 5′s Evening Magazine as the best company to work for in Seattle. Reporter Michael King visited our Seattle headquarters to find out what’s so special about Projectline (and, as it turned out, to steal some of our oatmeal). As you see in the segment, Michael found happy employees, donations for NW Harvest, a well-stocked pantry, ear plugs, pool playing, and the Wii in action. The three minute spot demonstrated the essence of the Projectline culture and the company’s mission: to positively impact the people we work with, the people we work for, and the people in our community. In his on-camera interview, Chris Opsahl said, “When I came to this place, it was so cool that I almost thought it was too cool.” I think many people who step through Projectline’s door (or slow elevator doors)-employees, friends, family, and clients-feel the same way. This place is cool!

In fact, there many more things that make Projectline a fun and dynamic workplace than were mentioned on Evening Magazine. Here are just a few of the other reasons why we love Projectline:

  • We host dozens of parties for employees, subcontractors, and friends of Projectline every year, just for fun!
  • Pets are allowed to roam the office to hang out with the Projectline crew.
  • The company encourages the environmentally-friendly efforts of its employees and even helps out by paying for alternative commuting methods.
  • We have a soccer team. Go Turf Burglars!
  • Last year, Projectline donated almost 400 volunteer hours to the community and many thousands of dollars to business startups in developing countries
  • Because we’re located so close to our local sports stadiums, employees are welcome to pre-funk for football and baseball games at the office.
  • Rather than cheesy corporate gifts, we often make donations in our clients’ names to support others in need.
  • Projectline has fun with new media-many employees participate in Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media sites. And, each new employee is featured in a podcast to welcome them to the team.
  • Each February, we host a chili cook-off for employees to compete and vote for the best chili in the company.
  • Our workforce includes employees and contractors working remotely from all over the world.
  • We have organic fruit sitting on the counter every day waiting to be eaten.

Karin Zabel is a Sr. Manager and Social Media Consultant at Projectline Services. In the last four years, Karin has led several customer evidence, reference and video programs for high-tech companies including for Microsoft, Dell, Intel and Avanade. Karin specializes in telling customer stories through digital marketing, social media platforms, customer videos and written case studies.
